Methodological explanations
Gender problems reflecting establishment of equal rights of women and men in society covers all the spheres of social life. The principle of equal rights and opportunities of men and women in Azerbaijan is reflected on Article 25 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. "Men and women have equal rights". At the same time this issue is regulated by legislation of Azerbaijan, decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and resolutions of the government.
At present corresponding activities as regard to these problems in State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan are realized.
Currently, issues related with equality between sexes are one of the most actual political, economic and social problems in the society. These differences existing in the society between sexes are increasingly being eliminated. Since 1998, State Statistical Committee put new indicators into practice with meeting of international standards in accordance with the recommendations of UN Development Program.
