Collection of the statistical data and presenting to users is important from standpoint of creation of the ownership environment in the country and supporting of the small entrepreneurship activities, forming of the infrastructure and its development, as well as improvement of the information supply, working out of the adequate state programs. For these purposes several observations were conducted by the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and necessary information on small entrepreneurship by different branches of the economy were reflected in corresponding publications and bulletins. But complex information on activities of small entrepreneurship subjects' that reflects theirs sector and regional structure as well as information on natural and legal entities-private entrepreneurs was published for the first time in the yearbook "Small entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan".
The yearbook covers main macro indicators of small entrepreneurship subjects during 2004-2006, theirs number by regions and activity types, number of employees and wage fund, investment, financial indicators, as well as information on regions of the country.
Note: definition of the small entrepreneurship subjects is realized based on number of employees and annual turnover according to decree of the Cabinet of Ministries of the Republic of Azerbaijan on "Identifying of the small entrepreneurship subjects by types of economic activity" dated 20 April 2004, ¹ 57 as follows: in the construction and industry - number of employees 40 person and annual turnover 200 thousand manta; agriculture - number of employees 15 person and annual turnover 100 thousand manat; wholesale trade - number of employees 10 person and annual turnover 300 thousand manat; other branches of the economy - number of employees 5 person and annual turnover 100 thousand manat.
