Methodological explanations

Total number of physicians includes all physicians with higher medical education, employed in treatment and sanitary organizations, social security institutions, research institutions, training establishments, as well as institutions of public health bodies and etc.
Total number of paramedical staff includes all persons with secondary medical education who employ in treatment and sanitary organizations, social security institutions, preschool institutions, schools as well as children’s homes and etc.
Number of beds is the total number of beds available for patients, regardless of its actual occupation.
Number of medical institutions rendering outpatient services to the population includes all medical institutions such as polyclinics, ambulatories, dispensaries, outpatient departments of hospitals, health centers, etc.).
Morbidity of the population is characterized by number of patients registered in medical and preventive treatment facilities during applying or prophylactic examination.
Primary morbidity is a newly emerged registered case.
Total number of all morbidity cases is characterized by total number of all registered cases. In this case, patients registering with the diagnosis set for the first time and patients re-applying to the medical institutions are covered.
Patients are population suffering from diseases and applying to the medical institutions during the current year or previous years. This indicator is defined by dividing of the total number of patents registering at medical institutions at the end of the year by number of resident population at the end of the year.
Morbidity rate is defined as ratio of patients registering with the diagnosis set for the first time to average annual number of resident population.
