In this Yearbook, gender statistics have been compiled, analyzed and presented, reflecting gender issues in society. These statistics were produced in close co-operation with users, in order to respond to the needs of policy makers, planners, researchers, the media and the public.
The Government of Azerbaijan has endorsed the "Platform for Action" " of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing 1995. This imposes on the State Statistical Committee the task to develop gender statistics of the country. In the "Platform for Action" it is stated that the national statistics services should ensure that statistics related to individuals are collected, analyzed and presented by sex and age, and reflect problems, issues and questions related to women and men in society (Article 206a).

Since 2002 the publication "Prices in Azerbaijan" has been published in two languages- Azerbaijan and English; it particularly covers the period since 1996.
Consumer’s price index (CPI) – characterizes price changes of a fixed basket of goods and services bought by an average consumer.
The CPI is one of the most important indicators for the level of inflation and is used for economic analysis and forecasting, revision of minimum social benefits, indexing of contracts etc..
The CPI is also used for deflation of final consumption expenditure of households in the National accounts..
The CPI is mainly calculated by weekly price observations in shops and other outlets..
Producer price indexes (PPI) - is calculated by price observations in 401 institutes and organizations of the Republic's industry. These observations cover 597 products.
Agricultural producers’ price index (AGPI) characterizes level and dynamics of prices of agricultural products realized on several channels by agricultural enterprises, farms and households. Observation of prices of agricultural products is realized by agricultural enterprises, peasant (farmer) farms and households by sampling network.
The obtained data are used on identification of the role of price in analysis of the realization terms of agricultural products and change of agricultural producers' incomes.
Observation of producers' prices of agricultural products sold by 54 selected regions is realized. Report forms are got from farmer farms and households, as well as agricultural enterprises by each region. After report information is included in the program, the total index of sale price of products agricultural producers and average monthly producers' prices of sold agricultural products are calculated monthly by the republic.
Total index of freight transportation tariffs - is defined based on indices of tariffs of freight transportation by railway, sea, air, pipeline and motor and transport. This indicator is used for characterizing of the price (tariffs) factor of income of the transport enterprises received from freight transportation by several types of transport facilities. Freight transportation tariffs indices give the possibility to identify the changes during reporting period not taking into account the changes in the structure of freight transportation according to different features type of the freight, size of sending, time of delivery, distance of transportation, area of transportation, type of freight, lifting level and etc. Calculation of total index of freight transportation is carried out monthly.

Classification of Types of Economic Activity Types - contains all economic activities. This classification, based on the NACE (classification system of the European Union) is meant to categorize all economic units in Azerbaijan by type of activity, from broad categories, e.g. Manufacturing (being activities including the physical or chemical transformation of materials, substances, or components into new products) to detailed groupings (e.g. Manufacture of carpets and rugs).
Classification of product types - CPT are intended for the description of produced and consumed products, rendered and required services. The CPT is combined with the Classification of Types of Economic Activity to create a unified commodity classification system.
List of industrial products (Prodcom) – PRODCOM is the statistical list of manufacturing and light industry products and services, developed by the European Union. The Azerbaijan version only covers industrial products.

2. Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP) - The main goal of this classification is the standardization of data collection about consumption of households. 3. Classification of the Purposes of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households (COPNI) - The main purpose of the classification is to classify the expenditures of non-commercial organizations rendering services to households, in accordance with the recommendations of the System of National Accounts (SNA 1993).
4. Classification of expenditures of consumers by purposes - CECP and other classifications by purpose play two different roles in analysis. The first role is to provide possibilities for inter-sector analysis of expenditures, the second - intra-sector analysis.
Classification of World Countries and Territories - This classification has been prepared by the United Nations Statistics Division and was first published in 1970. The present classification is based on the fourth version of of UN countries Standard codes (Series M, ¹49). The classification presents names of countries and territories in alphabetical order, three digit codes used for statistical purposes, codes of two and three letters used by the International Standardization Organization and shortened forms of countries' and regions' names.
Classification of Status in Employment - This classification contains a systematic list of labour activity types. This list plays an important role in statistical comparisons, registration and analysis.
Classification on Functional Designation of Buildings and Equipment - was worked out based on the "Construction Classification" (CC) adopted by the EU Statistics Office. The classification is mainly intended for administrative use by the divisions of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and institutions and organization engaged in construction-installation works
Classification of Economic Sectors. The main purpose of the Classification of Measure Units is to harmonize registration and reporting, analysis and forecasting of economical development, international statistical comparisons, realization of internal and foreign trade, regulation of external economic activity by the government and estimation of technical-economic and social indicators by different organizations, including Customs. The Classification of Measure Units is supposed to cover all types of activities that are subject to statistical observation.
Classification of Economic Sectors. The calculation of national income is performed under the conventions imposed by the System of National Accounts (SNA). The SNA distinguishes five so-called national accounts sectors.

The "Statistical classification of property types" was adopted on 12 November 1995 and was prepared referring to corresponding articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. National Classification of Education of Azerbaijan - The aim of this publication is carrying out of the division of the education programs of the national educational system according to ISCED 97 UNESCO.
Statistical Classification of the State Authorities and Organization with Manageable Rights (list) – - this classification is included in unit classification and code system of the technical - economic and social data. Voluntary units that were established for joint cooperation with institutions of local governing, public units and religious and international organizations and its representatives in Azerbaijan are covered in this classification.
Statistical Classification (list) of Agriculture, Hunting, Fishing, and Forestry - It combines the name, code and measure units of all agriculture, hunting, fishing and forest products. In addition, for data exchange the transition to CPC and HS codes is indicated too.
Currency classification - Basic information on term of international currency was collected in the classification. Publication of currency classification combines four main lines on currency and currency values, classification of the currencies, AZN and the list of currency and each four sections supply comprehensive data to the user. The section of classification of currency explains principle of belonging, application and regime, classification methods on functional role of the currencies.
